Article Snippet: The sections were incubated with 0.2 N HCl at 37 °C for 30 min for denaturation and then neutralized with 0.1 M borate buffer (pH 8.8) at room temperature for 10 min. After blocking with 10% normal goat serum in PBS supplemented with 0.1% Triton X-100 for 30 min, the sections were double-stained with antibodies against BrdU (6326; Abcam) and GAP43 (300–143; Novus Biologicals) at 4 °C overnight, followed by incubation with the corresponding Alexa FluorTM-labeled secondary antibodies (Thermo Fisher Scientific) for 1 h. Images were acquired using an FV1200 confocal microscope (Olympus Corporation).
